4.3L V6 Engine
Standard: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail
The standard engine in the 2019 Silverado is the 4.3L V6 engine. This engine produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. Along with this engine, the Silverado is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. At its best, this engine has the capability to tow nearly 8,000 pounds.
2.7L Turbo Engine
Standard: LT, RST
If it is exhilarating turbo power you want, the 2.7L turbo engine will answer the call. With 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque, this engine can tow a maximum of 7,000 pounds. It is also paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to give your extremely responsive driving.
This engine also comes with auto stop/start technology. This feature will be able to shut off the engine when you are stopped at a red light, then immediately start it back up once you take your foot off the brake. This will allow the engine to conserve as much fuel as possible.
5.3L V8
Standard (with Dynamic Fuel Management): LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country
Available (with Dynamic Fuel Management): LT, RST
Available (Active Fuel Management): WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss
The 5.3L V8 engine comes with either Active Fuel Management, which is in the previously mentioned engines, or the Dynamic Fuel Management. While both do a great job at helping improve the gas mileage of the 2019 Chevy Silverado, Dynamic Fuel Management is able to choose which cylinders to use to optimize power delivery and efficiency.
With either system, the 5.3L V8 engine generates 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. When this engine is equipped with the Dynamic Fuel Management system, it comes with an 8-speed engine and gives the 2019 Silverado a towing capacity of 11,600 pounds.
The 5.3L V8 engine with Active Fuel Management is matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also has the ability to tow up to 10,100 pounds.
6.2L V8 Engine
Available: LTZ, High County
The most powerful of the engine options, the 6.2L V8 engine will supply the Chevy Silverado with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. To handle all of that power, this engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
It also has the best towing capacity of all the engines available with the 2019 Silverado. This engine gives the Silverado a maximum towing capacity of 12,200 pounds. It isn’t just all about strength with this engine either. It also comes with the Dynamic Fuel Management system to help you conserve fuel when all of that robust power isn’t needed.
