Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Blazer drops the two base trims from the previous year's model for four distinct trim levels: 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier. The 2LT provides a solid base with 18-inch alloy wheels and cruise control while the 3LT expands on its features. The RS is equipped with a different engine and also features a special black grille and black exterior trim, programmable lift gate, and 20-inch wheels. The premier is similar to the RS except for a standard engine and is sold for the same price. The exterior of the Blazer is a sleek design with 11 different color options, including two new colors for this year's model: Nitro Yellow and Blue Glow. All trim levels except premiere come with an option for a contrasting color roof.
Engine (Power)
The 2LT, 3LT, and Premier trims come standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and a nine-speed transmission. A 3.6-liter V6 that makes 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque comes with the RS model and is optional for all other trim levels. All models have the option of adding all-wheel drive to the vehicle.
Performance
With the standard engine, the EPA predicts an average fuel efficiency of 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. With the V-6 engine, it gets 20 MPG in the city and 27 on the highway, with potential further impact if you choose to include all-wheel-drive. The four-cylinder version can tow 1,500 pounds while the V-8 can pull up to 4,500. This model also provides precise steering, with a standard 18-inch wheel setup that smoothly carries you down the road. The brakes are also excellent, with the RS model able to stop from 70 MPH in 165 feet.
Interior
The 2022 Chevrolet Blazer is heavily inspired by the Camaro, with soft-touch plastic, adjustable round air vents, and a two-tone color scheme. The back seat has a lot of leg room that allows your passengers to stretch out and can fold down to provide you extra storage capacity. Some options you can add include heated back seats, ambient interior lighting, and heated and ventilated front seating. Every Blazer model comes equipped with an 8.0-Inch touch screen monitor that is pre-equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It comes with USB ports up front and on the back of the touch screen console. Additional options include a Wi-Fi mobile hotspot, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, wireless charging, and built-in navigation.
Safety Features
The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration gives the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer a five-star crash and safety rating.
