Silverado 2500 Performance

The base engine for the Silverado 2500 is a 6.6-liter V8 gas-powered engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Another option is the 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 that produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque that pairs to a sharp Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission.

With these engines, you can tow up to 14,500 pounds with conventional towing and up to 17,370 pounds with a gooseneck or fifth-wheel setup. The payload falls between 3,614 pounds and 3,900 pounds.

Interior Space and Comfort

The Silverado 2500 comes in extended, regular cab, and crew cab models with an 8-foot, 2-inch bed or a 6-foot, 10-inch bed. The longer bed can accommodate 83.5 cubic feet of volume, while the shorter bed can accommodate 69.9 cubic feet of volume. Loading and unloading are convenient with the optional power-up-and-down liftgate that activates from the fob or the gate.

Each cab option boasts ample head- and legroom relative to its seating capacity, but if you plan on having passengers often, the crew cab is the best option. Getting in and out is easy with the integrated bumper steps and adjustable height, so you can lower the lift-in height to reduce your climb. Several features improve the interior practicality, such as a 40/20/20-split bench seat and a center seat that doubles as an armrest with a storage compartment. The rear seats are also available with an under-seat storage option.

Every Silverado 2500 model comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth® connectivity, Apple CarPlay™, and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, and two USB ports. Several options are available, including a larger touchscreen and a Bose® sound system.

Numerous advanced safety features are optional, such as front and rear parking sensors and automatic high beams. Other features include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, a feature that alerts you to vehicles or pedestrians in your blind spots when you’re changing lanes or reversing.
